The current society dictates its own rules to us. What should be the modern man? A variety of cliches follow everywhere - how to dress, what to be interested in, what to buy, what profession to choose, and so on.
This article describes 9 erroneous values that modern society introduces into our consciousness.
- “A successful person must have the latest iPhone, a car and an apartment with an ocean view”
The consumer society forces us to become "happy owners" of the latest models of phones, exclusive cosmetics or dishes that do not burn scrambled eggs. In addition, all this is supported by advertising slogans "buy in time", "don't miss your chance" and so on.
At the same time, it does not matter at all that there is nothing to eat on an iPhone, and there is nothing to fill a luxury car with.
- "I am a star!"
To date, an unusual phenomenon has become widespread - copying the lives of rich people, such as movie and show business stars, politicians, businessmen, etc.
Of course, a girl from a small town on the Volga does not have the funds to buy a Versace dress, vacation in Goa and plastic surgery.
Young girls earn an inferiority complex, considering themselves flawed, compared to cover models.
- “This is going to be an awesome Instagram!”
Everything is extremely simple: the level of success in life is determined by the number of posts in a popular social network. So say those who were not lucky enough to go on a trip or taste dishes in an expensive restaurant.
Psychologists believe that by exposing life to the public, Instagram users risk earning a narcissistic personality disorder, and their subscribers - depression and envy.
- "I will be a good mother no matter what"
If not tired, then a bad mother. Many women stick to this mindset after having a baby, blindly following advice from magazines and the internet. Often, an exemplary mother does not have time for herself.
Teachers are ringing the bells with might and main - because of parental overprotection, modern children are not independent, and academic performance leaves much to be desired.
- "Being a plumber or a nanny is a disgrace"
Having received a diploma, a person is automatically considered a highly qualified specialist, and without a higher education - almost a “second grade”.
Today's schoolchildren refuse to devote themselves to such professions as a plumber or a nanny. That is why we have so many bloggers and managers, and no carpenters and electricians.
- "Easy money without work"
The prolific business trainings teach: “Stop working hard in the office for pennies, work for yourself! Make millions." The concept is based on starting your own business as soon as possible and getting rich without doing anything.
The desire to get everything at once leads to the fact that people stop learning and improving their professional skills.
They change jobs one after another, hoping to get hold of easy money and public recognition.
- "Spend half a day to look natural"
Women are not to be envied now. It would seem fashionable to be natural, spending a minimum of time at the mirror. But even natural makeup should look no worse than a makeup artist.
It is not for nothing that in our time, most women refuse to make up at all, not being ashamed of their appearance and not wanting to spend a lot of time in front of the mirror.
- "Where did you rest?"
But what if nowhere? Or again rested in cheap Turkey?
It's all the fault of the craze for travel, which gradually grew into a competition "who traveled more." A weekend in Italy, 2 weeks in the Maldives, a vacation in France - people are chasing impressions and photos on Instagram.
- "Be selfish"
Now no one seeks to help others: no one can get up if you have fallen; do not give way to the elderly and pregnant; will not help to carry a heavy bag at the station.
The current generation is taught that their own comfort is above all. It's fashionable to be selfish.
