I love mackerel so much! And I often cook it. It's good that the fish store is a stone's throw from home. Today I will show one of the ways to cook mackerel, which I use most often. He is probably the fastest. And, besides, the recipe is dietary - no salt, no butter!
How I cook this fish, see the video below at 08:11. There are also 4 incredibly delicious and very simple recipes for cooking mackerel - baked, pickled, salted ... Take a look - you will definitely like it!
COOKING:
For this recipe, I use a steamer. If you have a slow cooker, you can cook in it (for a couple). If you don't have a double boiler or slow cooker, you can put a sieve in a pot of water, pour in some water and cover with a lid - that's a double boiler for you! Or, as my grandmother used to do, put gauze over the pan and also cover with a lid.
I have this (frying pan with a grid):
I wash the mackerel well, remove the head and entrails and cut into pieces.
I have a medium fish. I cut it into three pieces.
I pour water into the double boiler (I immediately add boiling water from the kettle). I add pepper to the water. I take a mixture of five peppers - about a teaspoon. You can add just black or just fragrant, for example.
Now here are two bay leaves. I put up a grid.
Lay out the pieces of fish on the grid. I do not salt the fish and do not lubricate anything!
I cook the fish for a couple of 15 minutes. And that's it! The dish is ready! A delicious fish that is suitable even for those who are on a diet - no oil, no salt! Of course, if you are not on a diet, you can salt the fish.
Serve with salad or any side dish. Delicious! And very fast! If you like mackerel, I recommend trying this method. Of course, nothing new, but my neighbor, for example, when she saw me cooking, was surprised. Therefore, I decided to show this method of cooking mackerel, which cannot even be called a recipe.
