Baking on kefir is pleasant to eat and cook: the dough turns out to be lush, quickly kneaded, and it is convenient to work with it. Therefore, many housewives often spoil their relatives with an excellent alternative to bread - kefir cakes with filling.
Today we will tell you how to cook delicious, ruddy cakes, which you want to eat while still hot. You probably remember these from childhood.
Ingredients
- Kefir - 500 ml
- Soda - 1 tsp
- Egg - 1 pc.
- Sunflower oil - 5 tbsp. l.
- Wheat flour - 500-600 g
- Butter - 50 g
- Salt - to taste
- Dill - to taste
- Potato - 0.5 kg
Cooking
- Boil the peeled potatoes in salted water, puree and mix with chopped dill. You can also add onions fried in oil or lard to the filling.
- Mix kefir with soda, egg and 2 tbsp. l. sunflower oil. Then add the sifted flour and knead a soft dough, slightly sticky to your hands. Sprinkle it with flour and cover with a towel, leave for 10 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 8-9 parts, roll each into a cake about 1 cm thick. Put the potatoes on top, pinch the edges and flatten a little. Leave the resulting products to rest for 2-3 minutes.
- Heat the rest of the oil in a frying pan, fry the tortillas on both sides, about 5 minutes on each side.
- Grease the still hot cakes with melted butter, cover with a towel, leave for 10-15 minutes. Ready!
