Leftover kefir? Yummy in 5 minutes!

Gata, or kata, or kada is an oriental sweet, the most famous Armenian pastry, extremely tasty. It reminds either puff pastries, or rolls with a sweet filling.

Ingredients:

For test:

  • 850 g flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 300 ml kefir
  • 5 g soda
  • salt according to taste
  • 320 g margarine

For filling:

  • 300 g sugar
  • 0.3 kg butter
  • 3 g vanilla

Cooking:

  1. Prepare the dough by combining flour with salt, then baking soda, margarine, egg and kefir. Shuffle carefully.
  2. Cut the dough into 3 portions.
  3. Make 3 balls, cover with a napkin and put in the refrigerator.
  4. Make the filling: make the butter soften and foam with sugar. Add flour and make small crumbs. Divide into 3 servings. Make a thin layer from the dough and lay out the filling evenly. Roll up. Using a fork, make stripes all over the roll and cut into diamonds.
  5. Put parchment paper on a baking sheet and spread the rolls. Bake in an oven heated to 175 degrees for half an hour.
