How do I learn not to iron bedding after washing?

I know, I know that the topic of the article is not dacha at all, however, I could not resist thinking aloud after a recent conversation with a relative, forgive me, fans of dachas and dacha affairs. I know that a lot of women read my channel, so it seems to me that the topic will be of interest to many.

Do you iron bed linen?

A sister from the village came to visit me, brought her eleven-year-old daughter with her - to dress up for school, and even so, to be distracted, to unwind after monotonous rural everyday life. My sister is three years older than me, and that's who you need to learn healthy indifference from. “Take life easier and bother about trifles” - this is her motto in life. At the same time, she lives alone, raising two schoolgirl daughters (her husband died four years ago), her house is a full bowl, the house is always clean and tidy, the garden is a feast for the eyes. She works a lot, and gets tired, respectively, a lot ...

I spread, I mean, bed linen for them on the sofa, and it is ironed, fresh, clean, fragrant. Sleeping on this is a pleasure. Katya, helping me to lay the sheet, says: “What a cool linen you have! Sleep yes sleep on this. I love ironed bedding - although I never iron it myself! Naturally, I ask - why are you not ironing? From an early age, the algorithm has been laid in my head - the bedding must certainly be ironed after washing, as my mother always does, and taught me, and she, in turn, adopted this from her grandmother. I, too, with my son, when he was still in infancy, always ironed the diapers-undershirts-sliders so that they were like new. It's nice to take such hands, that's honest! Although it takes a lot of time to do this. And effort.

And Katya continues: “Now modern machines wash very well, all sorts of microbes-viruses die even at the washing stage. What's the point of ironing clothes? During the night, it will wrinkle in the same way, as if it had not been stroked at all. I carefully hang it up - it dries up, then fold it corner to corner - and put it away in the closet. Is it necessary to kill yourself over the iron?

Then I thought: is it really necessary to spend so much time and effort? After all, while ironing two complete sets (one is a family one, with two duvet covers, and a huge sheet, and even with an elastic band, and the second is a son and a half), it will take at least an hour, or even an hour and a half. And, considering that I am not a fan of the iron at all, I still need to “gather up courage” and finally start the process. Sometimes my linen is not ironed, it can lie for a week while I get ready with spirit. There is a pile, it is an eyesore, but I don’t feel like stroking - well, the mood is needed accordingly, I think many will understand me ...

In general, I decided to conduct an experiment in the next wash - I'll try not to iron the bed. Moreover, my sister left, just after them I will rewash the set. 🙂

Although from the outside it may seem that I'm just going on about my own laziness.
