Nausea or even vomiting in the morning, dizziness, drowsiness, all these symptoms are associated with toxicosis of pregnancy. Doctors consider it a state of health, psychologists see it as a psychological side. The state of mental discomfort and the associated nervous tension can cause toxicosis.

Opinion and recommendations of a psychologist

At the beginning of pregnancy, a woman must adapt to changes in her body and quite often, completely change her lifestyle. Upon learning of their condition, many refuse to go to the gym, reduce friendly meetings, limit their activity, and may even change their profession.

During this period, a woman must restore her inner appearance. Now her attention is more focused on information about pregnancy and childbirth, raising children. Her social circle is changing. Not everyone shares the topics of interest to pregnant women.

A pregnant woman is often anxious. She worries about the course of pregnancy, whether she will cope with it, whether she will lose her attractiveness, how her relationship with her husband will change, etc. All these thoughts can cause various feelings. From the point of view of psychosomatics, nausea and vomiting are interpreted as an inability to "digest" a situation or information, as rejection from it, disgust for it, etc. If you are suffering from toxicosis and your feelings are too complex for you to understand, seek the help of a psychologist or therapist.

Perhaps once you eliminate the mental discomfort, your body will stop with these unpleasant symptoms.

Opinion and recommendations of a gynecologist

Toxicosis occurs, as a rule, at 4-5 weeks and ends at 11-12 weeks. That is, early toxicosis is a condition characteristic of the first trimester of pregnancy. It is determined by bouts of nausea, vomiting, salivation in the morning and on an empty stomach. Toxicosis is not the norm. If vomiting occurs 5-7 times a day, you can try to fight it at home, if 10 times, then you should go to the hospital.

How to deal with the symptoms of toxicosis

Avoid long intervals between meals and large portions. It is recommended to eat 5-6 times a day, but the portions should be small. You should always have something edible with you, such as cookies, nuts, fruits.

If vomiting occurs in the morning, in the evening you should put some food next to you so that you can eat it immediately after waking up. If nausea and vomiting occur in the afternoon, this means that they are partly caused by nervous tension and fatigue.

You need to relax, walk on the street, drink soothing teas. Of course, this is not considered a separate meal. Eliminate fatty foods and those that are difficult to digest. Remove foods that can cause nausea from your diet. A slice of lemon and mint tea are also helpful. In order to eliminate salivation, it is recommended to rinse your mouth with chamomile, sage or drink mint tea.

Difficulty communicating with friends and colleagues

At the very beginning of pregnancy, expectant mothers may already face problems in communicating with others.

Difficulties in communicating with friends can begin if they lead an active lifestyle and before pregnancy you are used to sharing these interests. Now, you should limit your physical activity and put away your snowboard or inline skates for a while.

How to replace? Instead of strength training, sign up for yoga or water aerobics classes for pregnant women. There you can improve your health, as well as make new friends with common interests. Well, you can always take your old friends on camping trips.

Difficulties in communicating with colleagues.

If you are not yet ready to tell colleagues about your situation, you may encounter resentment, misunderstanding, and even anger. They notice changes in you and don't understand why. Your colleagues cannot know why you missed a corporate party, stopped hanging out in a smoking room, refused an invitation to go shopping, and so on.

Do you have to be late, take days off due to poor health or a doctor's appointment? It can also annoy your colleagues. Every secret has a price, and you will either have to tell them the real reasons for your changes, or you will have to accept the fact that your colleagues have treated you differently for a while. After all, when they eventually find out, they will probably apologize for their behavior.
