Today, in supermarkets, every sweet tooth can find the perfect dessert for themselves. Previously, stores could not please customers with such an abundance of various goods. There were only a few types of sweets on the shelves. Probably the most affordable sweet in those days were toffees .
Yes, yes, those same toffees that tried their best to “snuggle” as tightly as possible to the package and “cling” to the filling that was recently inserted by a diligent dentist. To dip you into pleasant youthful or childhood memories, we have prepared a simple and quick recipe for chic toffees .
Ingredients
- Powdered sugar - 500 g
- Cream - 500 ml
- Honey - 120 ml
- Butter - 50 g
- Vanilla - 1 pc.
Cooking
- Take a vanilla pod and carefully remove the seeds from it.
- Pour cream (33% fat content) into a saucepan, add powdered sugar, liquid honey, butter and vanilla seeds.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring the ingredients occasionally, melt the butter.
- When the butter is melted, stop stirring the caramel and cook it at a temperature of 122-123 degrees. To check if the sweetness is ready, drop a few drops of caramel into cold water and try to roll it into a ball. If it is elastic and rolls well (not sticky), remove the caramel from the heat.
- Pour the caramel into a parchment-lined baking dish with high sides.
- Leave the caramel for 3 hours and then place it in the refrigerator.
- When the caramel "grabs", just cut it with a knife into small candy cubes.
Congratulations, the legendary delicacy is ready. If you want to diversify the dessert a little, sprinkle sweets with powdered sugar, almond flour or salt (it will also turn out very tasty). With such toffees, you don't have to worry about the safety of your fillings.
