I was often asked in the comments about the nuances of makeup for those who are older. At what the concept of anti-age is different for everyone. Someone wants to look younger after 40, and someone after 50-70, etc. It all depends on the characteristics of a particular person and his self-criticism. Let the phrase “after 40” not hurt you - it does not mean that forty-year-old women cross a certain line, after which it remains only to rejuvenate. It’s just that more often than not, the desire to look fresher and younger catches up precisely during this period of life (but you may be an exception).
And because I am a person who is superficially interested in age makeup due to the numbers in the passport, the question was forwarded to my friend makeup artist Anna. have already begun to try on some of her tips in my everyday makeup #usefulmakeup They are very practical))
How to paint lips to be younger?
The make-up artist does NOT advise women of respectable age to often resort to bright lipsticks . Most of them, firstly, reduce lips that are already decreasing with age; secondly, they attract attention to the area that older women would like to hide - lips, earlobes, neck. It is for them that aging is noticeable in the first place, especially if you are wearing large heavy earrings and a massive jewelry in addition.
Output: use one thing. Or lipstick, or jewelry. Because we don't look like this at 40 yet, this tip is more for older women.
I note that makeup artists are very positive about lip augmentation ( author's opinion: I am against hyaluronic acid in the lips for no good reason, but if lips turn into a thin strip with age, there is probably a good reason ).
The make-up artist insists on removing the mustache and the fluff above the lip . You may find this cute, but with age, it becomes more difficult to put foundation on the area around the mouth. Wrinkles and extra hairs in the foundation draw attention to themselves, even if you are wearing very beautiful lipstick.
Is lip liner required for makeup? Makeup artist says YES . Over the years, the contours become less clear, respectively, the visible contour of the lips is automatically associated with youth. Moreover, with the help of a pencil, it’s really possible to make lips a little larger ( just don’t get carried away going beyond the contour, if half a millimeter works for you, then half a centimeter works against it ).
Important: not only the contour is drawn with a pencil, but also the entire surface of the lips is shaded . So that when the lipstick disappears, the frame on the lips does not turn you into a clown.
As for TX lipsticks, the makeup artist advises to pay attention to the satin finish , because. matte lipsticks tend to reduce lips, and mother-of-pearl zealously emphasize imperfections. The color is chosen so that you like it from the first application. The more you layer lipstick, the more likely it will run in the end.
How to paint eyes to be younger?
I thought for a long time that makeup artists for some reason do not like mother-of-pearl, but it turned out that every year such a finish in cosmetics more and more emphasizes the flaws. And since eyes and lips are areas that primarily suffer from mimic fine wrinkles, and masters of beauty art do not want to attract attention to them with mother-of-pearl.
Therefore, make-up artists advise using only matte shadows in age-related makeup . What does dry textures have to do with it? creams tend to clog into every crease. They have the same attitude towards eyeliner - no shimmer and neon shades. In general, for ladies who want to look younger, the make-up artist gives the only correct advice ( I support him as a stylist, he also works in clothes ): elegance makes you younger, and teenage features, on the contrary, make you old!
A little about eyebrows and eyelashes. Of course, thick and long eyelashes are associated with youth and health, but, unfortunately, with age they thin out, fade more and more at the tips. A good way to fix this is to additionally use special serums for hair growth (I’ll talk about them in the next article).
The makeup artist advises to give up too thin, too curved, "surprised" eyebrows . Moreover, my makeup artist does not insist on fashionable sable eyebrows, she says that the shape and width should be selected exclusively individually, there are no such eyebrows that would suit everyone. Just thin and curved makes us look older 99% of the time.
And she also recommends not to emphasize (especially on the mucous membrane!) the lower lash line. It is permissible to do this with shadows, but with careful shading and preferably a lighter shade.
Separately, let's talk about tonal means, because there is enough information there for a rather long article.
