To lose some weight, you don't have to go on a diet right away, sometimes it's enough to apply a few clever tricks with clothes and beware of common wardrobe mistakes.
Our stylist decided to show with examples how clothes can help you lose extra pounds and become slimmer in just a couple of deft movements.
1. Do not wrap yourself in hoodies
For some reason, many girls believe that voluminous things will definitely hide those extra pounds. But this is a fundamentally erroneous opinion: baggy clothes do not slim, but only add volume to the silhouette. Therefore, instead of a spacious long trench coat, it is better to wear, for example, a straight-cut jacket.
And do not be afraid of bright colors in clothes, the main thing is to determine those combinations that suit your type of appearance. This cheat sheet will help you learn how to combine even the most daring and bright wardrobe items.
2. Choose monochrome looks
Solid color outfits, like this khaki jumpsuit, will help to add slimness. Thus, the figure is "stretched" and the image is not overloaded with unnecessary details.
3. Choose the right material and cut
It is worth paying maximum attention to the quality and materials of your things: products made of thin, tight-fitting fabric will only emphasize the flaws.
In the image on the left, there is not only an unsuitable fabric “in a stick”, but also a bad cut and unintelligible colors. In the image on the right, the fabric is much denser, the print is brighter and more interesting, and the V-neck also plays into the hands. Note that both dresses have a belt, but it only really works in well-cut clothes.
4. Careful with contrasts
There are several errors in the image on the left. Firstly, because of the contrasting top and bottom, the figure seems to be divided into 2 parts, which only makes it more massive . Secondly, a large-knit voluminous sweater clearly does not add lightness and grace .
Choose clothes so that both the top and bottom are either dark or light. You should not cut the figure with contrasting colors, and if you want to add a bright spot, then do it gracefully. For example, a monochrome bottom layer of light-colored trousers and a T-shirt looks better when paired with a dark jacket, as long as you don't button it up.
5. Don't be afraid of stripes
A neat vertical strip automatically “throws off” unnecessary kilograms. In general, any vertical lines on clothes make the figure visually slimmer, even a row of buttons. Do not forget about a straight back and a confident gait - these tricks will never be superfluous.
6. Avoid bulky accessories
In the image on the left side, the “dark T-shirt - light bottom” combination again divides the figure in half, and a huge bag with a ridiculous large stripe makes the image even more heavy.
We add a light top, get rid of an unnecessary knapsack - and the image sparkled with bright colors.
7. Be careful with prints
Be careful with your choice of prints. It is better not to choose clothes with large, gaudy patterns. In addition, such a “pajama” look is not suitable for every girl and can easily turn into a cozy blanket rather than a slender doll.
8. Play with emphasis on stretching the silhouette
Play with the lengthening of the silhouette in every possible way - both with the help of vertical stripes (like on these trousers), and with the help of accessories (long earrings).
Also, do not hide your hands under a shapeless knitted cardigan, but a well-tailored top will come in handy.
9. Feel free to create an extra layer
In this example, we will show how to turn a good image into a great one . A plain blue dress with a pleated skirt stretches the figure, but together with a jacket, the outfit turns out to be more harmonious and solid.
By the way, take note of the trick with turning up the sleeves: it always adds not only a drop of stylish negligence, but also helps you visually lose a couple of kilograms.

- Choose clothes of the right size : a hoodie, as we have already said, will make you even bigger, and a tight-fitting outfit will only emphasize problem areas.
- Pay attention to clothes with a V-shaped neckline, they also have a magical “slimming” property.
- Opt for simple, elegant cuts without unnecessary details, and avoid shiny fabrics and materials.
- Be careful when choosing jewelry : overly frilly and voluminous necklaces and earrings can play a cruel joke on the image.
