Stroke is not only common in the elderly. Statistics show that people of any age group are potential victims.
Prevention is always the best medicine and we will give you a hand in this. Recognizing the early symptoms of a stroke can save your life.
Here are 8 early signs of a stroke you shouldn't ignore:
1. Pain in one side of the face
A stroke does not cause pain, but some sufferers experience severe leg pain in the upper extremities or on one side of the face.
2. Breathing problems / Tremor
If you can't catch your breath, it's time to call your doctor. Insufficient oxygen flow causes cardiac arrhythmia and you cannot breathe.
3. Blurred vision / vision loss
Researchers confirm that 44% of all stroke patients lost vision in one or both eyes before the stroke.
4. Loss of balance / Trouble walking
Stroke patients often experience paralysis and collapse. Open your hands and keep your hands up. Hold in this position for 10 seconds. If your arms fall, your muscles are too weak to handle the pressure. It's time to call 911.
5. Facial paralysis
If one side of your face is paralyzed, this is a strong sign that you may be experiencing a stroke. Facial paralysis is one of the most common signs of a stroke.
6. Sudden headache / Dizziness
Dizziness is common among women under the age of 45. Seek medical attention and tell your doctor how you feel.
7. Anxiety and speech understanding
Some sufferers ignore the tiny signs, but others are unable to speak and feel delirious.
8. Fatigue
Women sufferers feel confused, disoriented, and exhausted before experiencing a stroke.
9. Headache / Migraine
Headaches are common among stroke survivors, especially women, according to research. One particular study found that 588 of all stroke survivors were actually migraine sufferers.
