Many mothers dream of a brilliant child. But despite all the parenting advice and guidance, there is no definitive book of rules on how to raise children.
On the other hand, some parents do not have to read psychological articles and parenting forums because their children have already turned out to be little geniuses. BabyClub decided to find out their secret and discovered some important rules.
1. Reward for Independence
In some families, parents are convinced that children will succeed in life if they can do something on their own. But it is much more important that children understand that they can do everything themselves.
Through this mindset, children will know that they are not just going with the flow, but that they are shaping their own future.
2. Everything seems difficult before it becomes easy.
To become independent, the efforts of children must be recognized. If a child has a new hobby, at any age, parents should support and encourage him.
If something goes wrong, older relatives can always say: "Starting something new is always difficult."
3. Trust is the best reward
So how should we reward these efforts? Not candy, that's for sure.
You must remember that a child can be rewarded with trust. If he is completely trusted to do the task himself, for the child this means that he does this work well.
4. Appearance is not everything
Another important difference is that future geniuses will never focus on appearance.
The truth is that keeping your child clean and tidy takes too much effort and time from both the parents and the child. Wise parents believe that it is useless for the personal growth and development of the child to always wear clean clothes. Children don't care what they look like.
5. Acceptance of untidiness
Children are often surrounded by chaos, which should not disturb their wise parents. They must understand: children are untidy, they drop and spill everything around them.
That's why, instead of nagging at their children, wise parents should let them live their lives as they please, explaining why being neat will be good for them over time.
6. Energy is running out
Some parents can run all day and tell their children: "Don't climb on it!", "Don't touch it!" or "Calm down!"
Wise parents of such energetic children believe that it is important for them to try all this while they are still young. Thus, as adults, they will be more confident and persistent in all their endeavors.
7. Wise freedom
Indeed, brilliant children are allowed many things. Another pattern on the wallpaper is taken as a sign that the child has the potential of a great artist.
However, there is a line that even such children cannot cross: disrespect for their family. A child can only get a judgmental look if he paints a cat pink, but insulting a parent will bring the child more severe punishment.
8. Dad is a leader, and mom too
Respect for parents is taught from an early age. Every child in the family knows that their parents are the leaders and everything they do is of lesser importance.
Therefore, children never rely on what their parents do for them, but instead they try to achieve something on their own.
9. Children's self-control exists
Instead of punishing a child by taking something away, it is better to establish rules that give some reward for doing the right thing.
If the child does not think narrowly in terms of restrictions and punishments, he learns to correct his behavior for his own good.
10. Nothing goes unnoticed
Modern psychologists advise not to praise your child for any doodles, thereby stimulating his development. Parents of future geniuses, however, are convinced that any achievement should be rewarded.
Even if a child brings mother a drawing with unrecognizable scribbles, she will admire this pattern and proudly present it to the attention of the whole family.
