Some of the foundations of a healthy lifestyle, it would seem, have already become ingrained in our memory, like axioms. And as soon as the scales show more than we are used to seeing, a list of rules immediately appears in our head that will definitely help us get in shape: run in the morning, eat at the same time, exclude sweets, drink plenty of water. But does it all really work?
Bright Side has collected 10 healthy lifestyle rules that should be corrected a long time ago.
10. Sleep 8 hours a day
Studies by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine have proven that 7 hours of sleep is enough for a person to fully function and feel cheerful throughout the day. It is during this time that our body has time to gain strength and recover.
9. Breakfast should be hearty
The density and saturation of breakfast should depend on the personal characteristics of the human body, since food is beneficial only when you really want to eat. Therefore, if in the morning you don’t get a piece in your throat, don’t torture yourself, it’s better to just drink a glass of water.
8. Run in the morning
Running is useful both in the morning and in the evening, so if in the morning you do not have the strength, desire or time, then do not force yourself. In addition, before a morning run, you need to give the body time to wake up, then it is advisable to have breakfast, wait 40 minutes until the food is absorbed, and only then do physical exercises. Otherwise, due to sudden movements, you may lose consciousness, have a headache, or have a heartbeat.
7. Eliminate sweets
Sweet is necessary for the human body for the full functioning of the brain, because it contains glucose. That is why you should not completely exclude sweets. Better just cut back on the amount of sugar you eat. For example, buy natural yogurt, drink tea without sugar, and eat dried fruit instead of candy.
6. Train to strength
“If nothing hurts the next morning, then you didn’t work out well.” But in fact, krepatura appears due to the fact that the load on the body was too strong. In addition, a feeling of pain in the muscles may indicate an injury to the muscle tissue. In such cases, you should refrain from training until complete recovery.
5. Don't drink water while eating
Water is essential for the proper functioning of the digestive system. If there is not enough fluid, the stomach takes it from saliva. Therefore, you can and should drink water, however, in small quantities. Thus, you will facilitate the work of your stomach, and food will be absorbed faster.
4. Eat at the same time
If you're not hungry, then don't choke on your food just because the clock is ticking. The main rule is to eat when you feel hungry. Your body will tell you the best time for lunch. As for the quantity, it is better to divide the daily amount of food into 5-6 meals a day.
3. Brush your teeth after every meal
Throughout the day, a person often consumes acidic foods: tea with lemon, pickles, salad dressings, and so on. These acids can erode tooth enamel. By brushing your teeth after eating, you only contribute to this process. Also, brushing your teeth too often can cause bleeding gums. Therefore, do not be led by such innovations and brush your teeth, as before, in the morning and in the evening.
2. Avoid baked goods
Bread contains the necessary dietary fiber, which removes cholesterol and bile acids from the body. Bread also contributes to the normal functioning of the digestive system. Naturally, this does not mean that they should overeat: 200 g per day is enough.
1. Drink 2 liters of water per day
The amount of water consumed should correspond to your weight: 30 ml / kg. You should also take into account weather conditions, air humidity and water loss during sports.
As for maintaining the body's water balance, in addition to clean water, you can also drink tea, coffee, juice and other liquids.
